org for more information on our organizationVG is currently offering a challenging and rewarding Per-Diem Recovery Technician position to provide on-call coverage for southwestern Idaho and eastern Oregon with a focus on our hospital partners in the Boise, ID area.
Examples of responsibilities include:
Screening of provided information for donor suitability Post-mortem removal of human donor eye tissue for transplant and research/medical education Surgical tissue preservation Procurement of pre-mortem/pre-transfusion blood sample with appropriate hemodilution from hospital lab if necessary Total physical inspection of donor; careful examination for any donation contraindications Whole globe pen-light evaluation Aseptic enucleation of whole globes, or in situ preservation of cornea Complete documentation of recovery, blood draw, and recovery details on appropriate paper workIn-house training is provided.
Preference will be given to applicants with experience or course work in biological sciences, allied health, and/or medical technology.
A flexible schedule is preferred as well.
This is an on call position where the technician must be available to be dispatched on a recovery during their on call shift.
Shifts vary and are assigned a month in advance.
We are a 24 hour organization and we operate 7 days a week.
Hourly rate is $20/hr.
Standby rate is $3.
00/hr for day and $4.
00/hr for nights.
Recoveries are paid on a per-case basis of between approximately $80 - $145.
Mileage reimbursement at the federal reimbursement rate for miles driven for recoveries.
Phone stipend for use of phone for work communication.

Must be detail-oriented and able to follow directives and work independently Have a valid driver's license with an excellent driving record and reliable, insured vehicle Have access to e-mail and Internet Travel around the Boise and eastern Oregon areas is required.
