Job Summary/Basic Function:
The Adjunct Faculty member in the Department of Communication is responsible for teaching students in a designated area of specialization.
They have a responsibility for determining grades for course requirements based on course objectives and criteria as defined in the course syllabus.
They work directly with the Director of Foundations of Oral Communication.
Adjunct faculty are not required to participate as a team member in shared governance, are not responsible for advising students, and are not voting members of the department.
To be eligible for this position candidates must have a Master's Degree in Communication or higher.
Adjunct faculty are hired on a semester to semester basis.
This is for a part-time, non-benefited role.
Essential Functions:
Demonstrates effective teaching Applies appropriate policies and regulations within the University, College, and department.
Develops and maintains positive working relationships with others within the University, College, and department.
Participates in activities promoting personal and professional educational growth.
Maintains expertise in teaching communication Serves as a professional role model for students.
Apply appropriate teaching methods supported by evidence.
Minimum
Qualifications:
A Master's Degree in Communication is required.
Preferred
Qualifications:
One or more years of teaching experience is preferred.
Salary and

Wage is based upon educational degree and number of credits taught.
Adjunct faculty are non-benefited employees hired on a semester-to-semester basis.
